Data from the Reuters Digital News Report shows that people now use Instagram for news almost as much as Twitter. According to Business Insider, 11% of respondents across 12 countries said they use Instagram for their news. In comparison, 12% of users said they use Twitter to stay informed. While 12% of adults used Instagram for the news, 26% of those ages 18-24 used the image sharing platform. With more people looking to Instagram for their news intake, advertisers will need to pay more attention to brand safety.
