Walmart requires headquarters staff to get vaccinated by Oct. 4

Walmart Inc., the largest private employer in the U.S., is requiring its headquarters and regional staff to be vaccinated by Oct. 4, joining Alphabet Inc.’s Google in instituting a policy that other big companies may soon follow as the delta variant continues to spread. The mandate covers all campus staff, as well as market, regional and divisional employees who work in multiple facilities, CEO Doug McMillon said in a memo Friday. A Walmart spokesman couldn’t immediately say how many people that entails. The policy includes all new hires as well.…

Amazon Advertising Revenue Eclipses $7B – And Is Still Picking Up Speed

Amazon doesn’t disclose advertising revenues in its quarterly earnings reports. It bundles the ad group into an “Other” category, which consists of advertising and analytics services. Streaming the Olympics Shouldn’t Be This Tricky

Last year, the 2020 Olympics were meant to help launch NBC’s new streaming platform, Peacock, but instead, sat the year out due to COVID. For an Olympics originally destined to be tied to a streaming service in an on-demand world, it seems stuck in a prime-time linear TV world, a category that has been on the decline for years. A Trade Desk survey at the beginning of the year predicted that 27% of U.S. households would cut their pay TV subscriptions by the end of the year, which is almost…

DoubleVerify’s Growth Buoyed By Programmatic

Fresh off its IPO in April, ad verification provider DoubleVerify saw its revenue increase 44% to $76.5 million year-over-year in Q2, fueled by the growth of programmatic. DoubleVerify took in $37.9 million in programmatic revenue in Q2 – a 57% increase from the same period last year – largely driven by its Authentic Brand Safety (ABS) premium solution, a prebid targeting tool launched for buyers in 2018. It also reported 89% growth in CTV, which now accounts for 30% of revenue in its direct-side video business. Social transactions grew 100%,…
