App Market Promote Your App Best way 12-in-1 digital marketing Course

[Music] in this video you're going to learn a process
to do app market research that will really help   you to build apps that are going to be massively
successful or learn how to be a very successful   app marketer so the first thing you want to do
is go ahead and open the app store now I am on a   iPhone so I'm going to open up the Apple App Store
but you can essentially go through this process on   the Google Play Store as well and you can even
do the Google Play Store one on a desktop as   well so what you want to do then is come across
to top charts and you can see paid free and top   grossing apps and essentially what you want to do
is go through each of these and start to really   understand these different apps in here now the
success of any business is going to be dependent   on your understanding of the marketplace and
really for the app Business you need to come into   the App Store to do that but I think you'd really
be shocked at the amount of developers that I've   talked to who never even come in to the App Store
to understand where is their demand what are the   apps that are selling what are the top apps um how
are they marketing their apps how have they laid   out their their screenshots their headlines
everything in here all of the information is   really in here in the App Store that you need to
be successful so instead of trying to come up with   a concept out of nowhere you really want to try
and see what are the apps that are selling where   is their demand and maybe create an app and put
your own twist on something that there's clearly   already demand for so I would recommend you start
at the paid C paid charts here and really start   to ask yourself why is this app so successful why
is it ranking here and being so consistent and if   you come in on a regular basis you're going to
see what are the top eight apps again and again   and again why do people like this app so if we
come down for example let's have a look at this   one why do people like this app well if you come
to reviews you can really see why why do they like   it so much why is this fun to them what is the
aspect of this app that makes it so popular uh   you'll also see some people saying you know give
it a four star three star review so that is a real   clue for you about what's missing missing you
need at least four people to play so could you   create a version of this app where people can play
against each other or that people can play against   a computer or something like that so in each of
these reviews there's going to be opportunities   for you to see how you could improve this app and
uh really understand at the same time what is it   about this that really engages people so much
and you could take some of those Concepts and   apply it to your app even if it's not exactly the
same as this but by coming in reading the reviews   understanding you are really going to understand
the marketplace what you can also do is go ahead   and buy the app download it what was the process
like did you become a raving fan after trying it   will the customer use it again you can come in
and see how are they marketing to their customers   you know what are the screenshots are in here is
there a video in here what is the icon design like   what is the competitive advantage of this app what
does this app cost in terms of its pricing so all   of this information is here in the App Store and
you can just go down through these and I would if   you're serious about the app Business you should
be doing this on a daily basis because the more   you do it the more you understand the marketplace
and the more that you see the opportunities most   casual developers will not do this and uh that
gives you a serious Advantage if if you understand   the marketplace so I would start with the top paid
apps um and then come across to the free apps and   go down and do the same thing as well now a lot of
these you're not going to build like a WhatsApp or   Spotify so come down and have a look at these apps
which of these apps could you potentially build   which ones are built by independent developers you
know where is their serious demand because these   ones are going to really show you then I would
recommend you come across to top grossing apps   and again go down through the the the same
process a lot of these top TOS there's no way   you're going to develop something that big
but you want to come down and see you know   where else have there been if these are the top
growthing ass who were developing this perfect   pitch my fitness pile that's quite a big one
know me fun tests and astrology I mean these   test stops seem to do incredibly well these
seem to be uh that seems to be developed by   an individual person and it's in the top growthing
apps I mean that is pretty interesting to me and   you can get all sorts of information here look
at the reviews again and even come across and   look at the related apps if you want to dig a
little bit deeper and see what else customers   are buying so this is great to know as well if
this is one of the top grossing apps and people   are buying similar apps to this well then you can
come in and M the data once again and say well   could I create a lap an app um maybe this one's
too competitive the know me test and astrology   whatever but maybe some of these other competing
apps that people are buying you could do a better   version of that now once you've gone through the
paid the free and the top grossing apps you can   also come down into individual categories and so
you can dig deeper once again and essentially go   through the same process so if we come down into
lifestyle for example Le we can do top grossing   paid free and just continue the process going
deeper and deeper and really um understanding   the marketplace so it seems like a fairly simple
process fairly obvious thing to do but really I   think you'd be shocked at how many app developers
and app marketers don't do this seriously enough   really all of the information is in here in
terms of what where there's demand for apps   and really how you should Market it and I would
recommend you do this almost on a daily basis   the more familiar you are with the marketplace the
more success you will have with your app business   in this video you're going to learn how you can
promote your app through Facebook ads we'll start   by looking at the different objectives that you
could have app installs and app engagement and   some of the details around that then we're going
to look at a couple of companies who have had some   amazing success using Facebook app ads you can
see some huge installs here and also some great   results in terms of Engagement so we'll look at
exactly what they did in order to achieve those   results then we'll move on and look at some
of the setup process including registering   your app and installing the Facebook SDK giving
an overview of the process for those two steps   and then finally we will look once again in the
odds create tool on practically how you would run   one of these campaigns so let's start in the
Facebook ads guide here and looking at the two   different objectives that you would have with app
marketing the first objective that you probably   have if you have a brand new app is to drive app
installs and you can see that you can place these   ads on the Facebook mobile app you can even do it
on the Facebook desktop app Instagram mobile app   and you can put it on Instagram using Carousel
ads as well the format of the ads are probably   going to be pretty simple and the objective and
the call to action button is really just going   to be install now now that looks pretty normal to
what we've seen before what is slightly different   is what happens once people click here they will
be brought to either they will be brought to the   Apple App Store or the Google Play Store depending
on their device so that they can download the app   directly now the rest of these recommendations you
can have a look at them in more detail yourself   but here is one interesting thing to note that
your star rating from the Apple store or Google   Play Store will automatically show on your ad
and so that is great social proof that you can   pull through from those app stores to show on your
ad so your first objective is going to be to get   people to install your ad and if you're running a
campaign this is probably the first step Next Step   then is to drive more app and engagement and get
more activity on your mobile app it's not enough   just to get people to install it you might need
to drive more engagement once they have downloaded   it and really a top tip in order to achieve this
is to create a custom audience of people who use   your Mobile app and then reach them with an ad
encouraging them to take specific actions now in   order for you to create this custom audience you
will need to have the Facebook SDK set up and that   is the equivalent of reading the Facebook pixel
for a website you want to set it up for those same   reasons so now that you understand that you have
two objectives apps installs and app engagement   let us have a look at some of these case studies
to see how businesses are piecing this together   and getting some amazing results so what we have
here is a brand new take out ordering app and you   can see that through Facebook ads they were able
to get 15,000 app installs over 4 months and over   70,000 app interactions so they have installs plus
the interactions now the name of the app is 10 be   Israel's large just take out ordering app and in
your country you're probably seen an equivalent to   this really linking a lot of restaurants together
and enabling people to order food through one   single app now if we look look down here at their
solution and how they achieve their goals this is   pretty interesting what they really did was start
by using interest and demographic Target targeting   with the mobile app ads and they wanted to reach
groups who were most likely to download and use   their app such as those with known interest in
food and restaurants single people and younger   age groups so that is some smart targeting through
interest in demographics there you can see that   people who already are interested in food and
restaurants are probably going to be interested   in their app single people who maybe don't want
to cook and prefer this to order or younger people   who may be more likely to get takeaways more often
uh rather than going out and buying a lot of food   Etc so some interesting targeting there just
to note then now once they had driven some app   installs using the interest in demographic
targeting they really went on to step two   here which was to drive more app engagement and
they had another campaign where they use custom   audiences as we've said to Target ads uh to Target
people who've already downloaded the app and these   ads encourage them to place orders using the app
call to action button and they did encourage that   activity by offering special promotions for
restaurants in their local area during this   campaign so two quite very strategic ways that
they first build installs and next drove those   engagement by offering those special uh coupons
so that was the 10 B let's have a look at another   case study here which is play Space this is
quite an interesting one because they were really   focused on driving app engagement for Brazilian
women Gamers for one game and that they had and   interestingly enough this is a Spanish company a
game studio and they were very focused on driving   this growth overseas so you can see some of
the results here 2x increase in monthly users   3x increase in Revenue 50% increase in paying
players 10x greater efficiency reach efficiency   than TV so you can see a lot of these results
here are more focused on the app engagement   rather than app installs now coming down we
can see that once again they targeted specific   demographics women of a certain age relevant
interests and uh really did it to promote this   bingo game then they use the custom audiences
once again you can start to see a pattern here   this is really key uh custom audience of existing
players encourage them to come back here's the   interesting part that they showed these people uh
tailor a video tailored to the Brazilian market so   obviously in Brazilian Portuguese showcasing new
game features through a series of Carousel and app   install ads so that's an interesting tactic that
they use to really show new features to encourage   people to come back and download the app now
that you've seen some of those case studies   and understand practically what are some of the
strategies that you can use let's look at some of   the steps in the set setup process so if you want
to start using app install or app engagement ads   the first step is to register and configure an
app now I'm not not going to go through all of   these steps I don't have an app myself but the
key things that you need to do are to set up a   developer account you also need to create your
new app in there the outcome of that process is   really to create an app ID once you've got that
app ID you can install it into your ad account   and then you're pretty much ready to go however
you probably do want to set up that Facebook SDK   so that you can do things like measure installs
without the Facebook SDK you won't be able to do   that and you won't be able to set up those custom
audiences for improve targeting and measure inapp   conversions Etc so those two steps are absolutely
critical now looking at finally at the ads create   tool how do you set these up you can come in and
select your campaign objective as app installs   then once in here you need to add in your app
now I've just set one up as an example here so   that's the first thing that you'll need to do
if you haven't registered your app that won't   appear then you go through the rest of the adset
setup as normal your audience your placements here   uh your budget and schedule Etc setting up the
format is pretty much as normal you can choose   a video image Etc and the rest of the setup
process is pretty much the same the key thing   that I wanted to show you is that you can't move
further in the campaign unless you've got the app   set up and that's why you need to First register
your app so now you have a good understanding of   app marketing on Facebook I'll put the link to
these two resources in the resources section of   this lecture so if you are going ahead to Market
your app you can just follow these steps to get setup in this video you're going to learn
how to set up an opall ad on Google AdWords   so once inside your AdWords account you want
to come down to the campaigns t Tab and then   click on ADD and add a new campaign then you
want to select the campaign type and we want   to come right across to the right hand side here
and click on universal app so we can drive app   installs across Google's networks then we need to
select the mobile ad platform so for this example   we just select Android and then you want to look
up your app so we can just type in the name of   the app here or just select one if you have one on
your accounts and then go ahead and click continue   now you need to go ahead and put in your campaign
name and then once you come down here in this   section you're going to put in the copywriting
that's going to appear on your ad and right now   we can see a preview of what it's going to look
like on the right hand side here so as you change   the text it'll be updated on the right hand side
and we can also see how this is going to appear   on the uh different places in Google's Network
so on Google search we can see looks like this   then the Display Network on YouTube and then in
the play Google Play Store as well now coming   down we can select the locations where we want
this app install ad to appear uh we can select   countries different cities Etc we can select
different languages so down here in campaign   optimization then we can focus on either getting
install of apps or some inac app activity and   depending on the choices you will make here it'll
show you whether you're focusing on new installs   or inapp activity now moving on then we set our
bids and so we can put that bid in and then our   uh daily budget as well and then we can set our
campaign dates and then once we're done we can   go ahead and click save and continue now the
reason that I would recommend uh app install   ads on Google AdWords is that you only pay when
somebody actually goes ahead and installs your app subscribe for upcoming courses videos
