Cisco Further Integrates Webex Into Workplace From Facebook
Cisco and Workplace From Facebook revealed new updates to their existing partnership at the annual Webex One conference Tuesday.
Users will soon be able to broadcast Webex live through the social network’s enterprise offering, even via Webex hardware devices.
Users will also gain the ability to interact during those broadcasts for real-time engagement, including the ability to ask questions, comments, like, use polls and react.
And the two companies teamed up to offer Webex customers six free months of Workplace From Facebook and to give Workplace customers who are new to Webex six free months of its video meetings, as well as deep discounts on its hardware devices.
Cisco senior vice president and general manager, security and applications Jeetu Patel said in a statement, “Our vision with building a strong open-ecosystem-based approach for partners is to make sure that regardless of the app someone is using, they can work seamlessly with Webex, where the experience is magical and fully integrated for the user.”
Workplace From Facebook vp Karandeep Anand added, “Cisco’s industry-leading videoconferencing technology, security and scalability, coupled with Workplace’s community-building engagement platform for businesses, built on 15-plus years of experience connecting people on Facebook, is a powerful combination. In just a single click, companies will be able to use Cisco’s hardware and software to go live and connect directly with others through reactions, comments and question-and-answer sessions—turning broadcast experiences into real asynchronous conversations, regardless of where or how people work. Together, we are able to offer the best of breed from both companies that will unlock engagement at levels like never before.”
